2008 Northeast Regional:

Egg Harbor, NJ

Racing in Egg Harbor was shaping up nicely from the beginning of the weekend, starting Friday morning.  Friday was on the cool side, with a little fog rolling in as the evening progressed.  Saturday started off nice, but mother nature opened up half way through the mains.  The great thing about the Egg Harbor facility, however, is that it drains and takes water with the best of them.  After the shower stopped, racing continued.  But, it didn't last and about half the mains ran on the rain soaked track with drops still falling.

Sunday morning took the water to a new level - literally.  Showing up at the track Sunday morning there were spots of the infield under a foot of water and spots of the track under at least six inches.  Check out the pictures below for that.  But, the volunteers at Egg Harbor were hard at work and racing went off at 9:30 on a track that was in as good condition as it had been the first half of the weekend.  Everyone who went out and picked up a shovel did a great job and made the even a real success.
