- Tyler Brown -

Name: Tyler Brown

Age: 21

Sponsors: Avent Bombshell, Shimano, Maxis, Tangent, Troy Lee, and S&M

Who do you ride with? Chad R, Leo, Javier, Mikey B, Christian, the Jet, Damien, and any other Euro or fast dude in town!

What do you say the biggest difference between amateur
racing and pro racing:
In pro you have to be on point 100% of the time. You have to live like a pro, eat like a pro, train like a pro, and race like a pro. Racing AA is a life style. Every lap is a main event and every rider is at there best and ready to win, so you have to make sure you have been training that much harder and want it that much more!

Favorite track: West Palm Beach FL, UCI downhill, and NBL Grands

What does your schedule look like this year? Well its pretty busy now. In the beginning of the year I didn’t race much so I could train hard and get a good base in. Now the season is in full swing and I am on the road a lot. Pretty much any NBL or UCI race I will be at, and I’m throwing in some of the bigger ABA races as well.

What is your opinion on slingshoting? What do you say
to the haters?
Personally I don’t like to be on the gate next to a slingshotter. I think it is a lame way to fix a rider that has no power. I see so many kids out there that sling way back but have no shot if you know what I mean haha. It just all depends, like I said I’m not a fan, but I’m also not going to hate on the riders. I don’t think its to much of an advantage if your in a gate of AA's, but you got to do what you got to do I guess.

Main event time, you draw gate 8. Who are you most
afraid of having on the inside?
Haha in that situation a slingshotter haha!

Funniest thing that has ever happened on a road trip: Oh wow we all have so many stories! From staying up all night laughing in a shady motel waiting for your car to be broken into and a murder to slam through the door, to just all the random things that happen on trips. Either way it is a good time with a new story every race!

Who is the hottest girl in BMX? Now are you talking USA BMX? Or world BMX? Sammy Cools is a cutie, and there are some euro bmxers that I don’t know their names haa!

Describe your gate and first straight: I think I am a power rider. I think I need to work on my gate some more, but if I can get out and don’t get shut down, I can lay down some power and make it happen!

Do you have any groupies? Haa yea I’m sure there are some TB groupies out there! If not I guess I’m not doing my job!

Who did you look up to growing up? In life, my Mom and God. They were the two biggest things in my life, still are. In BMX, Thomas Allier and Stumpy, two of the best ever!

Would you consider Pro cruiser for some extra change? Heck yes! I did last weekend. I raced 1 day, got first and made an extra $300! $300 for 1 lap!

Name one rider you would like to race 1-on-1: I would have to say Stumpy, because he is so fast and so good on so many levels I know if I could beat him I would be onto on my game!

What was your biggest win or biggest race this far in
your career:
I would have to say winning the Pro indoor race in Lyon France last winter. We had 178 Elite riders! I flew in for the 1-day race, everything worked out to my favor, and I walked away with the win!

The age old question ABA or NBL with a twist: What is
the best about each of the sanctions?
I like both! I can’t really choose one or the other. I like the ABA because the way they run races, every time you know what you are going to get, and it is a smooth program with very few problems. NBL has some fun tracks and they listen to the pros a little more. So they should come together and built a super sanction haa!

What advice would you give to the up and coming riders
in the sport?
Just fallow your dreams, and never give up!! I was once a small kid who dreamed about becoming a pro. I had to work my butt off, but now I am a paid pro doing what I love! So keep it up and if you want it bad enough you will make it happen!
