The Great Lakes National in Pontiac, Michigan is always a race that boasts, if nothing else,  some of the best surroundings a BMXer could ask for.  The race track neighbors a water park that many riders take advantage of after the race and is set in a beautiful public park.  The track even played host to the worlds in the mid 1990's.  The race was unfortunately a little smaller than usual, possibly due to taking place so late in the season.  The rain of Saturday kept the dust down, but Sunday's put a bit of a damper on things.  Anyways, check out the pictures we have to offer.

Pro Open main event action from Saturday heading down the first straight and over the triple.  Carlos Pierson leading amd on his way to the win.

Another shot of Pro Open with Pearson leading followed by Bulldog's Carlos "Ruff Rider" Clark and 24-7's Jason Lucius.

Here we have Samanth Allen on her way to the win for the Elite Women's class on Sunday with Toni Rude in tow.  Both of these ladies took a hard fall on the second straight during Sunday's main event.

Here is some of the aftermath of the crash.  These two were going for it and jumped the step-up, collided in mid air and both went to the ground.

Here we have the Junior Women heading over the triple on the first straight during Sunday's main event.  We have the #7 of Sarina Stenbacher leading the way with the #743 of Ybarra and Baird in tow.
